Once there they will start to convert the population. Next to killing pagans the religious agents can be send to neigbouring factions, especially if these are Islamic (Moors in Iberia and/or Egypts in North Africa) or Orthodox (Russia, Byzantine Empire).

Too many and they'll turn Pagan, to few and Pagans will ruin your people's believes. For the catholic factions you don't need a lot, but plenty to get into the Papacy. Once you've got yourself a priest/imam you can send him towards any region. These will convert populace to Pagan and can be killed by Assasins or can be burned by Catholic/Orthodox/Islamic priests/imams. All Imams with 4 Piety or more can call for a Jihad. Keeping in favour with the Pope allows you to call for a Crusade, however, if the settlement is deemed unworthy, the Pope will deny your call. Priest and Bishop act the same, cardinal allows you to vote for the Papacy. Priests and churches automatically convert the population that doesn't hold your religion.

#Medieval 2 how to

How do you not know how to send troops to the crusades? Maybe you could explain this further, as this is extremely obvious how to do that. The more popular you are with the Pope, and an excellent priest, gets you into the College of Cardinals, where you can then vote in the next Papal election. Select your priest then move your cursor anywhere within your land and it'll show the percent of your faction's religion in that region. Western European factions are Catholic, Russia and the Byzantine Empire are Orthodox, and the rest are Muslim. Priests convert your lands to your faction's religion. Also i'd apprichiate it a lot if you could tell me how to send troups to crusades, or how to be a cardinal(if its posible to be one). Every place is catholic, there is no cursor such as the assasin's or spy's one, they are just there. After i recruit priests, i dont know where to send them.

I dunno whether i should commit to learning it or go invade some other factions. The tutorial didnt explain anything and i havent even touched that aspect of the game.
